Libby gives Blue Steel...

We had Libby's 6 month pictures taken a few weeks ago. We should have known she was getting sick with all these frowny faces :( At least we have one beautiful smile and we do love the pictures! The best part-she's wearing the same outfit I wore for my 6 month pictures!

Texas-bound

We took Libby on her first flight last week to meet all of her Texan relatives- and there are lots! She met Grams and the whole clan! She did great on the flight, playing, eating and sleeping and didn't even act like anything was differant than being on the ground. She got lots of attention from her fellow passengers (who I'm sure were dreading being near her on the plane). We actually got thanked after some of the flights for her good behavior- like we had anything to do with it!

We had a great visit with Grams where she got lots of attention from Grams and her friends at Emerald Bay. Josh and I also spent more time than normal looking at the wall of family pictures at Grams' house- we were tracing Libby's genes and seeing what features she got from the Jones side, which we'll talk to her about very carefully one day. Josh also got re-acquainted with some of his Granddaddy's favorite sayings, especially "I've had worse places on my lip and never stopped whistling America," and "Was that an antique shop back there, I meant to stop". Josh loves remembering his Texas roots. Lovely trip!

Libby meeting her cousin, Jeanie
Libby and Sam meeting for the first time. Sam was so sweet with her and gave her hugs and kisses and patted her on the back. We think she tried to kiss him- which is really just her knawing on his cheek- I'm sure he loved that.

Unlce Ed- I guess something was familiar about his nose?

With cousins Erin and Lori- we had such a great time spending time with them! If only we were all together more!

Danny had some sweet Libby time too (although it looks like Danny and Josh are on a date in this picture).

Libby meeting all of her great aunts- Cheri's sisters Pam, Cyndi and Lisa.

Meeting her great-grandfather, Jim and LaNelle.

Special time with Grams in Tyler.

Lunch at The Purple Pig- as Grams said, she really likes going to Honky Tonks more than anywhere else. I second that Grams.

Please make sure your safety belt is fastened securely across your lap.... of course we held Libby, but had to do this for the photo op.

Play time on the plane!

Getting ready for her first flight- here we go!

And We're Off... and up!

We have had our most exciting month yet- Libby has been a very busy little girl over the past few weeks and is learning new tricks every day. She is now crawling- not with perfect form, but she gets the job done and can cross the room when enticed by a blackberry, TV remote or her passie. She is also now standing up in her crib, which is a little scary for us. This morning I actually put her back in her crib to sleep and she immediately sat up and started climbing up her crib. She's also become a great eater and opens her mouth up wide for the spoon when she's sitting in her high chair. Her "talking" is getting really funny too. We think that she says "Da-Da" but doesn't yet know that its Josh.

Impromptu trip to Richmond- Libby got to eat in her Mommy's high chair.

This was the first time we found her standing in her crib- we couldn't catch her in time for the picture of her full standing position.

Here goes the crawling. The floor nanny no longer contains her- she crawls out as soon as we put her on it. She's been working on the crawling for a few weeks now, but officially the form came together on January 31- she was about 61/2 months.

Having dinner with her friend Jack Granelli- nothing like 5:00 dinner on a Friday night!

Happy Half Birthday Libby!

Libby is 6 months old! It seems like every month is more and more fun with her. She's so playful right now and into everything! She is a champ at sitting up and doesn't wobble at all, although she is not ok with sitting still and playing anymore- she's wanting to crawl so badly and is almost there! At six months, she's eating solid food a few times a day- mostly cereal, apples and sweet potatoes- yummy! She has learned to sit up by herself from laying down- we discovered this this past weekend when we found her sitting up in her crib after her nap- immediately lowered her crib! She's sleeping pretty well now- still up once a night. She loves her little walker car and is so fast scooting herself around in it. At her 6 month check up, her stats were:
Height- 26 inches (75%)
Weight- 15 pounds (45%)
Head- still small (25%)
Hair Length- 150% :)

Yummmmmmy! She makes the cutest noise when she's eating- I think she's saying "ummmm"!
Nap time with Daddy!

She got herself into the pantry and found the fun plastic cups!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

The Snow of 2011 hit Sunday night and gave us something beautiful to wake up to on Monday morning (not to mention an extra day off work). Charlotte completely shut down of course and Libby's school was cancelled for 3 days (and counting). We played all day on Monday and enjoyed our time off together hanging out by the fire, drinking hot chocolate and making s'mores. We took Libby out in the snow for about 10 minutes and she was happy as a little penguin!

Buff enjoyed the snow too!

Libby's first snow angel- she didn't know what to do, she was frozen laying on the ground giggling.

She just sat here like she was stuck to the ground- she didn't mind it at all!

Champagne and Baby Monitors!

WOW how things change. We spent a wonderful night with Chris and Rikki Miller and their beautiful girls, Caden (2) and Berkley (6 mo). We let the girls play a little and had them all in bed by 9. Then we ate dinner and tried to keep our eyes open. If Josh had let me, I would have been in bed at 9, but I'm so glad to have spent the time ringing in 2011 with such dear friends.

3 baby monitors and 4 glasses of Champagne- I'm glad we've learned to create some balance in our lives..

So cute together- they were trying to hold each other's hand.

Um.... what are we supposed to do now?
Big Sis Caden joined the little ones for a picture!

Libby's First Christmas!

What a wonderful first Christmas we had with Libby! She was sick and so were her parents, but we still enjoyed sharing the day with her and her family. The Texas crew wasn't able to make it, but she did get to spend the holiday with both sets of grandparents and her Aunt Laura and Uncle Clay. It was also the first white Christmas in something like 45 years in Charlotte- I think Libby was the lucky charm :).

Libby really enjoyed spending all day Christmas Eve with her parents and grandparents cooking and getting the house all ready for Christmas Eve dinner. We were joined at dinner by Eric and Amy Norris who weren't able to make it home to New Hampshire in the snow storm. Clay's friend Zach Boylston also joined us- what a lovely night with yummy food!

New Toys! New Toys! New Toys!

Goodbye hug - I definitely see the resemblance here Mom- those Nelson jeans are strong!
Cheri's new rain boots- precious.

Her buddy Gracie gave her lots of hugs!

She definitely enjoyed the wrapping paper the most!
Our favorite gift under the tree!
The Wassermans before they hit the road to avoid the big snow storm of 2010!
Opening her beautiful stocking that her grandmother made for her. Santa brought her lots of socks and a few new toys.
She looks like she's up to something in this picture...
I would love to say that she was staring at the beautiful tree or sparkling lights, but let's be honest- it was the ceiling fan.
She loved being up high on her Daddy's shoulders. I can't believe she'll never wear this beautiful dress again!
Christmas Eve- getting ready for our dinner party!
Looking at the beautiful lights on the tree with Chief! I think this may look a little different next year :)
Sitting in her new arm chair- I'm trying to ignore the fact that she looks 2!
