New Shoes & A Trip to the Park!

I'm not really into the idea of putting shoes on Libby, but it was apparently time since she's starting to attempt walking and is standing up on her own now for a few seconds at a time. I took her to Stride Rite on Sunday and we got her size 3.5 sneakers with a velcro strap. They're soft and very light weight so that they aren't too bulky for crawling. She's doing pretty well in them, but they make her look like such a big girl! It reminded me of the old days- selling kids shoes at Saxon's!

We also went to the park on Saturday with Stacie, Brett and Everley Berry! Everley is just 2 days older than Libby, so its always fun to let the girls play together, and they've been on the same page for almost everything, which is fun for their parents :)

I thought this was such a sweet picture - what a little lady
And then she proceeded to crawl over Stacie and onto the top of their picnic basket - She didn't listen when I told her that it wasn't appropriate to climb while wearing a skirt.
Everyley was a master poser- she smiled whenever the camera came out and looked right at it. On the other hand, Libby wasn't quite with it. This skill of Everley's was very impressive!
Sweet Everley - fashionable in her romper just like her Momma!
They had quite the conversation which sounded more like a screeching competition.

Libby is 8 Months Old!

Libby turned 8 months last week! I can hardly believe my baby girl is growing so fast. Her little personality is coming out more each month. After hearing stories about Josh as a baby, I think she is following in his footsteps. She's all over the place- climbing on things, trying to crawl on top and over things, crawling from room to room, crawling over the other babies at school to get to toys. She crawls with one knee and one foot- so its a half crawl- I think she realized the foot would get her places faster. This is apparently all Josh behavior- as Cheri told me, her other 2 babies were much more calm. A few cute things about Libby at 8 months:

- She no longer likes her hair bow and has started pulling it out. She even pulls at it when its not there just to make sure.
- She's eating finger foods- puffs, cheese straws and yogurt puffs and doing a pretty good job at getting them in her mouth.
- She talks a lot- mostly Dada and Nana (which I personally think is momma)
- She is starting to learn to hug and kiss. Her kiss is really her open mouth on your cheek, including teeth. Her hug is a nuzzle at your neck or her burying her face in your chest.
- She's starting to like to snuggle with her lovies, blankets and stuffed animals
- She's pretty attached to her parents and crawls all the way across the floor and climbs up our leg to get us to pick her up
- She is loving Buffet and thinks he's hilarious. He licks her toes, which makes her giggle every time. When he walks out of the room, she looks for him.
- To get from one place to another in a standing position, she dives. She'll hold onto the coffee table and want to switch to her toy basket and just dives for the basket- scary for her momma to know that she has no fear!
- She loves being tickled, mostly right at her jaw line- which gets the cutest giggle
- She is so squirmy on the changing table- diaper and pjs at night is like wrestling a wild animal

Josh spun her around in this basket- it was like the Tea Cups at Disney World!

She loves standing up holding onto her toy basket, and reaching inside to find all of her toys!

So we had a diaper blow out on the way to the doctor's office and all I had with me was a diaper since we came straight from school (first time mom mistake). So, she came home in a diaper, socks, hair bow and jean jacket- hilarious!

Happy Girl :)

These pictures are harder and harder to take!

Weekend with Grandparents

While the kids are away.. the grandparents did play! Josh and I had our first full weekend away since Libby was born. We went to NYC for our friends Dwight and Laura's engagement party. Libby stayed at her own house and her grandparents and Aunt came to take care of her. It was a gift all around- a treat for us to have an adult weekend and for our family to get great time with Libby. They even got to get up with her in the night for extra time together :)

Libby also got to go to her swim class with Chief on Saturday (and a slew of Wasserman paparazzi). I'm not sure if Libby or Scott enjoyed it more!

It was so nice on Sunday, we had some play time in the yard and Libby got to feel the grass in her toes.

I think she got to stay in her PJs all weekend- what a treat!

Chief and Libby enjoying the lazy river at the Y.

Backstroke

This little girl loves her bath!

Snuggle time after the pool and very ready for a nap.

More PJs.

Our Little Fish!

Libby had her first swim lesson this weekend and loved it! We signed her up for class at the Y where she and the "shrimp" learned to kick their little legs and chase balls in the pool. It was precious and I couldn't believe how kicking and moving in the water is so natural. She'll be all ready by the time she's in the pool this summer. Josh took her in the pool while her grandpa, Scott and I watched and played paparazzi. She was worn out afterwards and basically slept the entire afternoon.

Learning to feel comfortable on her back- this was her least favorite.

Chasing after the balls- this is how they learn to move forward.

She had just come down the slide here- I think she loved it!

Learning to sit on the edge of the pool while Daddy counted, 1, 2, 3, jump!

Is that a thumb's up?

They learn to get out of the pool in a crawling motion- it was very natural for her.

7 Months!

Libby turned 7 months a few weeks ago. She's changing so much that we can hardly keep up. She's now standing up at every opportunity - in her crib, on our coffee table, the couch, ottoman, in the bath and on us. She's still standing up as soon as she wakes up in the night, but is getting a little better about getting herself back to sleep. These last few weeks have been plagued by sickness in our house- 2 ear infections for Libby and a stomach bug for all of us- we are more than ready for warm weather! A few new things Libby's doing at 7 months:

- Crawling very well - all the way down the hall and getting faster by the day
- Eating more and more - she devours her food now and likes everything so far except for peas
- "Walking" when holding our hands or onto the edge of something
- She loves playing with her passies and collects them like they are pennies. When she finds a new one in her crib, she spits one out and replaces with the new- she can keep this game up for quite a while. We now put about 5 in her crib every night so that she's never out.
- She doesn't love her stroller- she would rather be out playing than relaxing for the ride
- We tried giving her puffs, but she's not too keen on the texture of solid food yet

We had a beautiful day at the park- 75 degrees in February. Libby got to swing for the first time!

Already a fan!

And she's up!
Finally feeling better after a few weeks of being sick!

The official 7-month picture- the sign says "February 2011, 7 Months", but Libby preferred to eat it!
