Happy Half Birthday Libby!

Libby is 6 months old! It seems like every month is more and more fun with her. She's so playful right now and into everything! She is a champ at sitting up and doesn't wobble at all, although she is not ok with sitting still and playing anymore- she's wanting to crawl so badly and is almost there! At six months, she's eating solid food a few times a day- mostly cereal, apples and sweet potatoes- yummy! She has learned to sit up by herself from laying down- we discovered this this past weekend when we found her sitting up in her crib after her nap- immediately lowered her crib! She's sleeping pretty well now- still up once a night. She loves her little walker car and is so fast scooting herself around in it. At her 6 month check up, her stats were:
Height- 26 inches (75%)
Weight- 15 pounds (45%)
Head- still small (25%)
Hair Length- 150% :)

Yummmmmmy! She makes the cutest noise when she's eating- I think she's saying "ummmm"!
Nap time with Daddy!

She got herself into the pantry and found the fun plastic cups!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

The Snow of 2011 hit Sunday night and gave us something beautiful to wake up to on Monday morning (not to mention an extra day off work). Charlotte completely shut down of course and Libby's school was cancelled for 3 days (and counting). We played all day on Monday and enjoyed our time off together hanging out by the fire, drinking hot chocolate and making s'mores. We took Libby out in the snow for about 10 minutes and she was happy as a little penguin!

Buff enjoyed the snow too!

Libby's first snow angel- she didn't know what to do, she was frozen laying on the ground giggling.

She just sat here like she was stuck to the ground- she didn't mind it at all!

Champagne and Baby Monitors!

WOW how things change. We spent a wonderful night with Chris and Rikki Miller and their beautiful girls, Caden (2) and Berkley (6 mo). We let the girls play a little and had them all in bed by 9. Then we ate dinner and tried to keep our eyes open. If Josh had let me, I would have been in bed at 9, but I'm so glad to have spent the time ringing in 2011 with such dear friends.

3 baby monitors and 4 glasses of Champagne- I'm glad we've learned to create some balance in our lives..

So cute together- they were trying to hold each other's hand.

Um.... what are we supposed to do now?
Big Sis Caden joined the little ones for a picture!

Libby's First Christmas!

What a wonderful first Christmas we had with Libby! She was sick and so were her parents, but we still enjoyed sharing the day with her and her family. The Texas crew wasn't able to make it, but she did get to spend the holiday with both sets of grandparents and her Aunt Laura and Uncle Clay. It was also the first white Christmas in something like 45 years in Charlotte- I think Libby was the lucky charm :).

Libby really enjoyed spending all day Christmas Eve with her parents and grandparents cooking and getting the house all ready for Christmas Eve dinner. We were joined at dinner by Eric and Amy Norris who weren't able to make it home to New Hampshire in the snow storm. Clay's friend Zach Boylston also joined us- what a lovely night with yummy food!

New Toys! New Toys! New Toys!

Goodbye hug - I definitely see the resemblance here Mom- those Nelson jeans are strong!
Cheri's new rain boots- precious.

Her buddy Gracie gave her lots of hugs!

She definitely enjoyed the wrapping paper the most!
Our favorite gift under the tree!
The Wassermans before they hit the road to avoid the big snow storm of 2010!
Opening her beautiful stocking that her grandmother made for her. Santa brought her lots of socks and a few new toys.
She looks like she's up to something in this picture...
I would love to say that she was staring at the beautiful tree or sparkling lights, but let's be honest- it was the ceiling fan.
She loved being up high on her Daddy's shoulders. I can't believe she'll never wear this beautiful dress again!
Christmas Eve- getting ready for our dinner party!
Looking at the beautiful lights on the tree with Chief! I think this may look a little different next year :)
Sitting in her new arm chair- I'm trying to ignore the fact that she looks 2!

5 Months- Pigtails, Cereal and Sitting Up!

Libby is 5 months old and into so many new things! Her biggest new accomplishment is that she is getting really good at sitting up by herself. She only does it for a few minutes and then rolls over to her belly or falls forward onto her head! She really is enjoying sitting and playing with toys around her. We also just started feeding her rice cereal which is going pretty well- we're really excited to start feeding her food that actually tastes good soon! In other exciting news, Libby wore pigtails for the first time yesterday- they were precious!

Playing with her spoon and looking quite cute in pigtails!

Deciding if she wants the cereal or not!

I think she liked her hair like this :)

Doing such a great job sitting up! Her floor Nanny pillow is the perfect place to learn- she can fall over and she's protected all around.

Daddy feeding cereal- she looks like she really wanted it.

Her Christmas PJs- she wore them all day Saturday while listening to Christmas music in front of the fire and watching her mommy wrap presents!

All tuckered out after a long play day.

Her official 5 month picture- she was too interested in the paper this time for us to prop up the sign in front of her.

Libby's First Solid Food

Libby tried rice cereal for the first time on Sunday- HILARIOUS! She definitely seemed ready to eat from a spoon and opened her mouth each time we approached her, but made the best faces when the food went into her mouth. She couldn't decide what to think of it! Enjoy the video:

First Hanukkah and ACC Championship!

Libby had quite the exciting weekend- she had her grandparents and Aunt in town for the ACC Championship and we got to celebrate her first Hanukkah! She is a very lucky girl to get to celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas, just like her Mommy did growing up! The Hokies came home victorious, beating Florida State and are heading to the Orange Bowl in a few weeks!
Our little Hokie before the game- she (and her Mommy and Daddy) chickened out of the game since it was 32 and raining!
Her grandfather and aunt Laura made it though!
Libby's first Hanukkah present- a Jumparoo. She, of course, liked the wrapping paper the best!
... and the box which she tried to eat like everything else!

Libby loved watching the lights although her grandma got a little nervous with the fire around her.
