Libby is 5 months old and into so many new things! Her biggest new accomplishment is that she is getting really good at sitting up by herself. She only does it for a few minutes and then rolls over to her belly or falls forward onto her head! She really is enjoying sitting and playing with toys around her. We also just started feeding her rice cereal which is going pretty well- we're really excited to start feeding her food that actually tastes good soon! In other exciting news, Libby wore pigtails for the first time yesterday- they were precious!
Playing with her spoon and looking quite cute in pigtails!
Deciding if she wants the cereal or not!
I think she liked her hair like this :)
Doing such a great job sitting up! Her floor Nanny pillow is the perfect place to learn- she can fall over and she's protected all around.
Daddy feeding cereal- she looks like she really wanted it.
Her Christmas PJs- she wore them all day Saturday while listening to Christmas music in front of the fire and watching her mommy wrap presents!
All tuckered out after a long play day.
Her official 5 month picture- she was too interested in the paper this time for us to prop up the sign in front of her.

Libby's First Solid Food
Libby tried rice cereal for the first time on Sunday- HILARIOUS! She definitely seemed ready to eat from a spoon and opened her mouth each time we approached her, but made the best faces when the food went into her mouth. She couldn't decide what to think of it! Enjoy the video:

First Hanukkah and ACC Championship!
Libby had quite the exciting weekend- she had her grandparents and Aunt in town for the ACC Championship and we got to celebrate her first Hanukkah! She is a very lucky girl to get to celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas, just like her Mommy did growing up! The Hokies came home victorious, beating Florida State and are heading to the Orange Bowl in a few weeks!
Our little Hokie before the game- she (and her Mommy and Daddy) chickened out of the game since it was 32 and raining!
Libby's first Hanukkah present- a Jumparoo. She, of course, liked the wrapping paper the best!
... and the box which she tried to eat like everything else!

Libby's First Thanksgiving
Gobble Gobble Gobble- Libby's first Thanksgiving was wonderful. We got to see all of our family and share some great traditions with our little girl. We started the week off with the Turkey Trot in Charlotte. Libby was pushed by Cheri and Callie and slept the whole way- it was cold and rainy, but she was all bundled up and very comfy in her stroller. After the run, Libby got to meet Dwight and Laura for the first time, then off to Thanksgiving dinner at the Jones' house. She sat in her high chair and played while we ate, then passed out in the middle of the floor for her nap. Friday morning we left for Blacksburg to share the rest of the long weekend with the Wasserman side. We relaxed on Friday afternoon and then went to the VT game on Saturday. Libby stayed at home with her Grandmother so that Mommy and Daddy could enjoy some adult beverages and the game.
On the way home from Blacksburg, we stopped to cut down our tree at McInnis Tree Farm in Elkin, NC. Libby wasn't too into the tree cutting since we woke her up from her nap when we got there.
What a wonderful holiday- we are so thankful to have such great families and friends, and this year we are especially thankful for a healthy, beautiful, sweet baby girl.
It was chilly on the farm, but we snuggled up and got a beautiful tree!
At the tree farm- Josh teaching Libby about the texture of the Christmas tree
Libby's grandfather decided it was time for her to be introduced to his favorite drink!
Libby stayed at home while we were at the game and had great play time with her Grandma!
And off to Blacksburg and to TOTS- Allen had his first Rail and we got to reminisce about college days...
In true Thanksgiving tradition- passed out after the meal!
Yummm... that Turkey looks good, where's mine?
Taking a much-needed break from cooking and cleaning all day- Callie and Allen got a little Libby time!

Libby's First Haircut
The rattail is gone! Libby had her first hair cut on Saturday, November 20. I took her with me to my hair appointment and asked Amy to trim off what had become a lengthy rattail. Libby no longer has hair hanging over her shirt collar- thanks Amy! Her hair is growing so fast, I'm hoping for pigtails by her first birthday!
All done!

Libby is 4 Months!
Standing at 2 feet, 1 inch, Libby is 4 months old and is so much fun! She is enjoying exploring everything around her. She is grabbing toys and putting them in her mouth, she loves to sit in our laps and have us read to her- she watches as we turn each page, she rolls over all the time- even double rolls sometimes, she is really wanting to sit up on her own, she likes listening to music and looking at lights and playing with her toes and feet. She's even starting to laugh when we tickle her. She's still up in the middle of the night which is not fun, but we're working on it- and yes we did finally move her out of our room a few weeks ago. She had her 4 month check-up yesterday and was a very healthy little girl. She even did fairly well with her shots. Here are her stats:
Height- 25 inches- 75% (those tall Jones genes are staying strong)
Weight- 13 lbs, 3 oz- 50%
Head- 25% (still a little peanut head)
She had so much fun at the doctor's office playing with the table paper. She tore it up and rolled around in it- it may be her favorite toy yet. We immediately called Dad to ask him to bring some table paper home from his office for her to play with.
Yes - she tore this up all by herself. We had to replace the paper twice!

A Visit From Friends
We had a wonderful weekend with a visit from Sara and Julian and Katherine and Conor. We are so lucky to have such great friends who traveled to see us! Sara, Julian and Conor got to meet Libby for the first time and Katherine got to see her again. We loved sharing our little Libby for the weekend. Libby stayed with Chief and Cici on Sunday, while the adults went to the Panthers game- what a fun day. Thank you all for coming!
Katherine, Julian, Conor, Josh, Barb and Sara tailgating before the game
Sara and I leaving the game- I think the W for the Saints was icing on the cake for Sara and Julian :)
Callie and Allen joined us at the tailgate.
DSF High School Reunion- Henley came to the tailgate too!
